Corvus Team

View From The Nest: Welcoming Bryan Schofield

As Corvus Insurance continues to grow and expand its smart commercial insurance offerings, we’re excited to welcome Bryan Schofield as our Head of Property and Cargo. Bryan will be focused on continuing Corvus's transformation of how cargo and commercial property insurance is underwritten and distributed.

Bryan brings extensive experience to Corvus, having a proven track record of building out successful property insurance businesses from the ground up. He most recently served on the leadership team of Orchid Underwriters as SVP, where he spearheaded their Commercial Lines division including proprietary programs and a wholesale division. With Bryan’s background deeply rooted in innovative insurance and business intelligence, he will leverage his expertise and blend technology, data science and underwriting to strengthen organizations’ postures around property and cargo management.

In the realm of complex specialty property insurance, comprehensive analytics needs to be at the forefront of technological investments. Access to predictive analytics can provide insurers with unique advantages when it comes to mitigating risk, with insights around cargo and the property value chain as critical components to success. With this in mind, Bryan will work with Corvus’s extensive team of software engineers and data scientists to create bespoke solutions for insureds, brokers, risk capital providers and reinsurers.

In addition to enhancing Corvus’s Smart Cargo product, Bryan will establish a new AI and data-driven Smart Property Program to offer clients through the value chain from insured to reinsurer. This solution will move beyond current dataset offerings, and expand the level of transparency and detection used when identifying trends in risk for losses and damages in commercial property. With a data-driven approach, Bryan and the Corvus team will equip capital providers and brokers with the actionable insights needed to thrive in the next generation of insurance technology.

When asked what excites him about joining Corvus, Bryan said, “I’m inspired by Corvus’s mission and the support the team provides to execute its vision every day. I’m looking forward to leveraging Corvus's industry-leading technology to empower brokers and capital providers to make the best decisions for policyholders.”

Bryan is based near Tampa, FL and is married with two children. He enjoys spending time on his boat and fishing with his family. Welcome to our flock, Bryan!
